A three-voice SID synthesizer and full groovebox for the Nintendo DS: 6581/8580 emulation, 3-track step sequencer, SID drum machine, parameter locks, song arranger, and 3-part multitimbral MIDI.
SID-DS turns your Nintendo DS into the most famous synthesizer chip ever made. A register-level emulation of the MOS 6581/8580 SID runs on the DS's second CPU, with combinable waveforms, ring modulation, hard sync, the one shared analog-style filter, and the 6581's beautifully wrong distortion.
Sequence three independent voice tracks and a four-lane SID drum kit. Change the filter while the pattern plays and the machine records the movement, volca style. Lock any parameter to any step, Elektron style. Chain up to 64 pattern slots into a song with repeats and per-slot mutes. Mix it on nine faders, glue it with chorus and delay, filter curve, three-track step strip, and oscilloscope.
